C4B's Chairman, Paul Barrett, looking extremely good for his age, is the Managing Director of Barretts of Canterbury Limited. He joined the Company in 1978 at the tender age of 18 as a Management Trainee although as a young boy he had been allowed to assist in the toyshop and in the delivery of toys at Christmas-time (but not in competition with the man in the red suit!).

Paul has been married to Patsy for 17 years and has two children Kathryn and Alicia, aged 13 and 11 respectively. He is usually over-ruled by the three women in the household, or so he would lead us to believe. His only insistence, like most men, is that he gets to do the cooking on the barbeque where you can find him roasting his sausages.
Paul has a daily lunchtime routine at the Kings School Gym either swimming or pounding away on the running machines with the guidance of his personal trainer. He has participated in many events including, the Canterbury 10 Road Race which is organised by the East Kent Invicta Athletic Club, a Barretts Cycling Team on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation, and has recently cycled from Lincoln to Canterbury in aid of the Lady Mayoress' Charity.

A firm interest of Paul's is rallying and, up until a few years ago, ran a rally team at Barretts using a Subaru Impreza which in the latter years was driven by his good friend David Higgins during which time they won back-to-back British Rally Championships.
Paul has maintained a long-term friendship with Nick and Stephen Kingsman of leading East Kent building firm, Dennes, amongst others and meets up weekly for a 'boys' night out' virtually every Thursday without fail.
Always up for a challenge, Paul has a very personable character, a wicked sense of humour and both he and Patsy are very sociable beings, often entertaining or being entertained; preferably the latter.
