Clearing the path for business

Dear associates and business owners

Our November issue highlights three very important initiatives that offer you an opportunity to shape the future of your district. The City Council's draft budget for the 2010/11 financial year is now up for public consultation; the LDF (Local Development Framework) soon will be, and Canterbury District Partnership Environment Group's travel business transport survey should have already reached your inbox. Your feedback is valued, so please take a few minutes to review and comment on these current initiatives, and look out for the LDF consultation document when it's launched in January.

Paul Barrett's business comment

November brings news of interesting opportunities for businesses. As well as the local business transport survey, draft budget consultation and forthcoming LDF consultation, Business Link has a number of innovative new environmental tools on offer and Tourism South East is introducing e-marketing training courses. And it's cheering to note that, despite the economic situation, some local businesses are actually booming, according to the Kent Business survey, undertaken earlier this year.
