Shape the Future

Help shape our future and the future of the next generation of leaders. Trustees required - Two positions.

Kent Union provides wide-ranging services to students of the University of Kent, has annual revenues of over £7.5 million and employs 400 staff. Our services range from a nursery to a nightclub, an employment agency to small supermarkets and a welfare advice centre to coffee shops. Based in Canterbury, Kent Union is responsible for the Universities at Medway Students' Association and for providing services for students at campuses across Kent and on the continent. We believe we are one of the best students' unions in the U.K. and we are looking for two resourceful, committed individuals with strong political skills and acumen to join our Board of Trustees and help continue our improvement programme.

The right candidates will have significant experience at a senior level in either the public, private or voluntary sector. They will have a track record of forging partnerships and of dealing with strategic issues; they will have significant financial management experience, a comprehensive knowledge of general management and financial management and experience of developing a high performing culture. The right candidates will command confidence, have sound judgement, the ability to think strategically and corporately and have strong communication skills; they will be leaders on equality of opportunity, excellent role models and effective leaders.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and dynamic organisation and to develop skills and knowledge in a safe and supportive environment.

For an informal conversation about this opportunity, please contact Achike Ofodile, President and Chair of Board of Trustees, on 01227 824215.
