C4B membership hits 200 mark

Membership of C4B (Canterbury4Business) topped the 200 mark this month when Canterbury-based 'green' marketing firm the Integrity Agency Ltd signed up as an associate.

C4B, which lobbies for economic improvements, resources and opportunities on behalf of the local business community in the Canterbury district, has campaigned for improvements to the A2 slip roads and for the development of business accommodation at Little Barton Farm. Recent initiatives include the introduction of an on-line business skills and training register at www.canterbury4business.co.uk, a 'Support4Business' mentoring scheme, which to date has attracted offers of support from 27 local businesses, and a 'blog'. Initiatives in the pipeline include a 'Flying Start Rally' graduate enterprise event in November.

Paul Barrett, chairman of C4B, said: "This is a exciting milestone for C4B. With over 200 businesses now involved and more joining on a regular basis, C4B can become an even more effective 'voice for business' in the district, helping to identify local businesses' needs and working with the city council and other authorities to address these. We are very pleased to welcome The Integrity Agency on board."

Tim Garbutt, managing director of The Integrity Agency, who has also joined C4B's Environment Sub-Group committee, said: "As a local business, it's good to be involved with both the business and the public sectors. There is so much happening in this part of Kent and the Canterbury district is well-placed to benefit from activity relating to 2012. C4B provides a great forum to help influence the public sector and encourage more business opportunities to the area."
