Lakesview Enterprise Centre Opens For Business

The new Lakesview Enterprise Centre in Hersden, with 14 units available for start up and fledgling businesses to rent, officially opens this Friday (23 November).

The serviced suites measuring between 18.5 square metres and 22.5 square metres are aimed at businesses currently working from home, or professionals and graduates wanting to start their first business, and can be rented from the city council's Local Economy Team.

The units will be let with initial subsidised rents, a wireless broadband width of up to eight megabytes, small business rate relief (subject to Valuation Office confirmation), free on site business support and advice from Business Link Kent, a meeting room available to hire, shared photocopying service and a dedicated on site parking space.

Leader of Canterbury City Council, Cllr John Gilbey, said: "This new purpose built development provides an exciting opportunity to encourage small and start up office based businesses to develop in the district. There is a real shortage of this type of accommodation, so we are very pleased to be able to help these businesses establish themselves locally and contribute to a thriving economy."

The Lakesview Enterprise Centre is located on the Lakesview International Business Park in Hersden. It has been funded with £100,000 from Canterbury City Council and £250,000 from the South East England Development Agency (delivered via the East Kent Partnership) and built in partnership with local developer George Wilson Developments.
