Hot dates for business in 2008

The programme for the city council's popular March Business Month in 2008 has been unveiled.

'Building Blocks for Business' - the theme for next year - features a series of events across the district organised by the council's Local Economy Team. They aim to build on the successful format of the past two years, and feedback from previous events has been used to put the schedule together.

It all starts on 4 March 2008 at the Kings Hall in Herne Bay with an event that includes a 'business 2 business' exhibition and workshops on 'business basics' such as health and safety, personnel, taxation and business planning.

This is followed by a series of 'business master classes' on taking a business forward and planning for the future at Hall Place in Harbledown on 18 March 2008. And the programme wraps up with a session at the Marine Hotel in Whitstable on 26 March 2008, which will cover training and development opportunities for businesses.

Council Leader Cllr John Gilbey said: "We're very pleased to announce the programme for Business Month 2008 and expect these events to be as popular as ever. We have a reputation for attracting top notch speakers and business experts and next year is no different."

Any business interested in taking a stand at the 'business 2 business' exhibition at the Kings Hall should contact Paul Spree in the council's Local Economy Team on 01227 862532 or paul.spree@canterbury.gov.uk
