FREE EVENTS TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES
Canterbury City Council's Local Economy team is holding another series of free business events throughout March.
The three events bring together a range of speakers and presenters of the highest calibre, and build on the success of last year's programme of business events held by the council.
It all kicks off on Tuesday 13 March at the Kings Hall in Herne Bay with a session on 'Retail therapy for small businesses'. Experts will be offering help on a wide range of topics affecting independent retailers and a health check for small businesses.
After the popularity of his seminar revealing the secrets of winning public sector business last year, Malcolm Gallagher will host a follow-up event titled 'Are you fit to compete?' at the Marine Hotel in Whitstable on Monday 19 March. The seminar will reveal how small businesses can compete and win contracts.

Finally, on Tuesday 27 March at Hall Place, Harbledown, business people will be able to choose from a selection of workshops designed to help them improve their skills and move their business forward. Subjects being discussed include branding, presentation skills, employment law and 'going green'.
Executive member for economic development, Cllr John Gilbey, said: "Once again, we've brought together some leading business experts to offer help and support to local companies, and it's all completely free of charge. I'd urge people to book as soon as possible, as these sessions are proving to be very popular."
