Profit from Free Workshop

Canterbury's self-employed business owners are being encouraged to attend a free workshop, which explores ways to increase their sales and profits.

Run by Business Link, the publicly funded business advice and support service, the free 'Boost your sales and profits' half-day workshop is being held at 2pm at Hall Place Enterprise Centre, Church Hill, Harbledown, on Monday December 14 and at other venues throughout the year.

Developed by Bob Gorton, who runs Hard Hat, one of the country's leading change management organisations, delegates will be encouraged to decide their aims and ambitions, their key financial targets and to look for opportunities to achieve their priorities. They will leave the workshop with a personal action plan including three key actions to improve business within just 90 days.

Business Link recently celebrated the 1,000th business completing a personal action plan at this workshop in just 15 months since the service was launched.

Richard Green, Business Link Adviser Manager, said: "This is not your usual workshop where you make a few notes and take home a few pointers - this is a one-off Business Review, a health check to take a refreshed look at your business and make changes.

"Giving up just a few hours will be time well spent, giving the owner manager the insight they need to take their business forward. In these difficult times a workshop such as this, which can help develop your business and realise your aspirations, is a one-off opportunity not to be missed."

Bob Leydon, of Leydon Lettings, Canterbury who attended a recent 'Boost your sales' workshop, said: "This workshop offered good practical tips and advice delivered humorously."

Bob Gorton said: "The workshop will help small business owners to take a refreshed look at their forward planning and Business Link will keep in touch, helping them to access the wide array of other support initiatives designed to help."

The workshop, which is worth £350, is free but exclusively for Kent based self-employed and owner managers with no more than two full time employees. Apply for a workshop place on www.boostyoursalesandprofits.co.uk and for more information about the support available, call Business Link on 0845 600 9 006.
